Diana Shpungin

Diana Shpungin is a Latvian-born American multidisciplinary artist whose work has been exhibited widely in the U.S. and internationally, including at the Bronx Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum, SculptureCenter, MASS MoCA, MOCA Tucson, Smack Mellon, and the Latvian National Museum of Art, among others.

She has received major awards and grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, NYFA, The Harpo Foundation, and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, as well as fellowships and residencies from Art Omi, MacDowell, Yaddo, LMCC, and more. Her work has been featured in Artforum, Art in America, The New York Times, Hyperallergic, The Brooklyn Rail, and other publications.

Born in Riga, Latvia under Soviet rule, Shpungin immigrated to the United States as a child. She received her MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York and is currently a part-time Associate Professor at Parsons School of Design.
