Event Overview

As the amber light settles into the afternoon, join us at SPACS for a whiskey tasting experience shaped not only by flavor, but by perception.

In dialogue with our current exhibition ‘’Before Arrival‘’, this session invites a slower way of encountering. Not a destination, but a moment suspended in between where taste unfolds gradually, and meaning remains open.

🥃 Guided by Patrick Marran, the tasting moves through four distinctive styles, each revealing a different rhythm and character of whisky:

• Bourbon: Four Roses

• Rye: Jaywalk Rye Whiskey

• Scotch: Single Cask Peated Nc’Nean

• Japanese Whisky: Komagatake Wine Cask Finished Single Malt

About Bar Rover

Patrick Marran brings over twenty years of hospitality experience, guiding people in exploring the nuances of beer, wine, cocktails, and eventually whisky. While bartenders in bustling venues expertly juggle various duties to keep the night flowing, Patrick prefers a slower, more immersive approach, offering in-depth discussions and a deeper appreciation for spirits’ history, production, and context.

Patrick is currently the Head Bartender at On the Rocks, a whisky bar in Midtown Manhattan. He's a member of the United States Bartender's Guild and is eTIPs/ATAP certified. He holds a diploma in Single Malt Whisky from the Edinburgh Whisky Academy, the only certification approved by the Scottish Qualifying Authority (SQA), which is held by less than 550 people worldwide.
